Panda Love

 Hola Hello!

A quick little update on a little watercolour sketch I did yesterday based on the two Red Pandas at the Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park. They recently got a second Red Panda and it seems romance is blooming already.

D'awww...

The original painting has already found a new home but I am thinking of making some limited edition prints of this picture (minus the watermark of course). Drop me a line if you're interested.

Pet Portraits

Hello there!

I'm no stranger to the odd Pet Portrait be they caricatured or more detailed/realistic. Below is a commission I did last year...

The final image.

Printed onto canvas (photo courtesy of client)

As you can see above my client wanted it to be printed on canvas (I have a canvas supplier who does good prints at good prices).

Dr Frog I presume?

I have just finished a commission for an image for a logo for a Science Lab based in the University Of Birmingham.

The lab deals with DNA replication using frogs as tool (Xenopus laevis frogs to be precise).

After a few rough sketches an image was decided and below is the product. I look forward to seeing it on their posters and Lab/office doors. ...and I really hope they give him a name. :o)

Frog and DNA logo image.

Well... I can't sit about updating my news feed all day as I have some other work to finish. I best hop to it! What? I thought that pun was ribbiting!

A quick write up... pass me that Paper Mate Flexi Grip pen!

On Thursday I finished the Paper Mate Facebook Campaign (as mentioned in my previous blog post) where I caricature people who uploaded their photo to the Paper Mate Facebook Page by using a Flexi Grip pen. Below is a screen grab of the album on my Facebook Page of the full collection of caricatures and other images I did.

From normal dogs to re-animated dogs. ...and no I'm not barking up the wrong tree.

Come! Sit! Lay down! Roll over! ...yes I was talking to you, dear reader. ...and as you didn't do as your told there's NO Scooby-Snacks for you!

Below is a recent pet commission I finished today. Just a little something extra I do to keep the pennies rolling in. (They make good Christmas presents too by the way)

Tomorrow I am off to meet Brendan O'Neill of Stickleback Productions regarding his Scampenstein Animation/Graphic Novel project. It seems I'm going from one dog to the next. You never know... you could be seeing Scampenstein in your local cinema someday soon. ...and what do dogs eat at the cinema? Pup-corn! (The best dog joke I could find in a google search)
